Choosing the right control head isn't just about cable size or mounting—it’s also about getting the right knob, output end, thread, and stroke to perfectly fit your equipment’s interface.

Knob & Handle Options

Knobs are available in plastic or metal and can be color-coded or engraved upon request.

Output End Configurations

Each output type can be matched with different cable sizes and threaded rod interfaces.

Panel Mounting Threads (Control Head Body)

Phidix control heads are available with:

•  3/8"-24 UNF (standard light-duty thread)

•  7/16"-20 UNF (for slightly larger heads)

•  5/8"-18 UNF (for higher strength panels or coarse panels)

We can also supply custom bushings or retainers for oversized panels or irregular installations.

Cable Size Compatibility

Supported cable types include EXT, UTL, and Bristow, depending on desired push-pull friction and bend routing.

Stroke & Travel Customization

Standard stroke options range from 1 to 3 inches, but can be tailored to your:

•  Valve or choke requirements

•  Dashboard spacing constraints

•  Ergonomic considerations for operator pull range

Need non-standard stroke? We’ll configure the head, rod, and housing to match.

Application Tip: Choosing the Right Combination

Example setups:

•  Engine stop cable – Marked T-handle + grooved swivel head + stainless rod + 3” travel

•  Remote panel choke – Round knob + threaded head + 2” travel + VLD cable

•  Compact control box – Low-profile knob + fixed head + 1” travel
