Thermal transfer ribbons are used to print on thermal transfer labels and come in wax, wax/resin, or full resin formulas to work on a variety of label substrates. To get the best print quality and durability, it is important to match the right ribbon with your label... no matter if it is made of paper, plastics like polypropylene or vinyl, polyester, or special materials like cloth or polyimide. Thermal transfer ribbons also are sized and formatted to fit specific printer models.

3. Ribbon Type:

a. Wax Ribbons: Ideal for economical use on art paper,tag, cardstock and shipping label, low cost.

b. Wax/Resin Ribbons: Ideal for use on art paper, synthetic paper label in environments with moderate to extreme chemical exposure.

c. Resin Ribbons: Ideal for use on PET, polyimide label, synthetic materials in environments with harsh to extreme chemical exposure and/or exposure to excessive abrasion, and where UL/cUL approval is required and/or exposure to moderate abrasion, with good Wear Resistance.
