Clay bonded refractory castable is using soft clay as binder, with bauxite clinker, clay clinker or corundum, mullite refractory aggregate and pouring refractory powder and other admixture. According to the type of refractory aggregate and powder used, Clay bonded refractory castable can be divided into clay, high aluminum, corundum, mullite, light aluminum. The choice of soft clay binder requires good plasticity, good dispersion, good adhesion, wide sintering temperature range and high refractoriness.

Compared with cement bonded refractory castable, clay bonded refractory castable has the characteristics of moderate temperature strength, thermal strength, good volume stability at high temperature, good thermal shock resistance, and good spalling resistance.

Clay bonded refractory castable is mainly used in blast furnace, equalizing furnace, heating furnace and other thermal equipment.
