Stuffing Box Detail information
The stuffing box is a device used in wellheads to provide dynamic
sealing between the tubing pipe and the polished rod, sealing the
annular space.
The Double Packed Stuffing Box (DPSB) is specifically designed for
pumping units and offers several notable characteristics:
1. It features a unique misaligning feature, reducing the need for
precise alignment with the pumping unit.
2. The primary packing can be changed under pressure by tightening
compression bolts, ensuring ease of maintenance.
3. The DPSB is equipped with cone packing, enhancing the sealing
capability of the device.
4. It includes a Lub Upper Gland (LUG) with a grease zerk, allowing
for easy lubrication of the rod.
5. Optional components include an Oil Reservoir Gland (ORG) for
heightened lubrication and an Anti-Pollution Adapter (APA).
6. The LUG employs two heavy hex nuts on each bolt, providing
robust support of up to 20000 lbs. during well servicing
operations.
7. A flanged bottom connection is available upon special order,
catering to specific installation requirements.
8. Widely utilized within the industry, the DPSB is recognized as
one of the most commonly used stuffing boxes.
