ASTM F15 Low Coefficient Of Thermal Expansion 4J29 Plate
kovar Alloy Plate is an iron cobalt nickel alloy with a coefficient
of thermal expansion like that of hard glass. Since Kovar Alloy is
tough and versatile, while employing extensive quality controls
throughout UNS K94610 alloy’s manufacturing process to ensure
uniform physical and mechanical properties for ease in deep
drawing, stamping and machining are consistently achieved.
Furthermore, the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of Kovar is
its most dynamic mechanical property.
Advantages of kovar Alloy Plate
The expansion alloy kovar Alloy Plate is precisely formulated and
controlled so that its coefficient of thermal expansion is very
close to that of hard glass or ceramic, meaning that it expands and
contracts at similar rates. As such, it is well suited for
applications where it is used in combination with glass or ceramic
materials, especially where an airtight seal must be maintained
over a wide temperature range. Kovar's other key strengths include:
- Very low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE)
- Metal stamping capacity
- Advanced dimensional stability

Application of 4J29 Plate
Used for making iron, nickel and cobalt alloy bars, bars, plates,
pipes with hard glass seal. It is suitable for electric vacuum
device such as transmitting tube, oscillation tube, conduit,
transistor, sealing plug and relay shell. In the temperature range
of 20℃ -450 ℃ has a certain linear expansion coefficient, can be
matched with hard glass, sealed firmly.
