Machined 90WNiCu High Performance Heavy Tungsten Alloy MoldsHeavy Tungsten Alloy Molds are made of tungsten matrix
(tungsten content is generally 80%~98%) and a small amount of
nickel, iron, copper, cobalt, molybdenum, chromium and other
elements. The density of high specific gravity tungsten alloy is up
to 15.20~18.70g/cm3, also known as high specific gravity tungsten
alloy or high density alloy material. Because tungsten alloys weigh
more than twice as much as steel. What is Heavy Tungsten Alloy Molds?Tungsten alloy has a series of excellent properties, high specific
gravity: general specific gravity 16.5-18.75g/cm3, high strength:
tensile strength 700-1000mpa, strong absorption capacity: 30-40%
higher than the general specific gravity of lead, high thermal
conductivity: 5 times of mold steel; Low thermal expansion
coefficient: only 1/2-1/3 of steel, good electrical conductivity,
good weldability and machinability. A common method of making heavy tungsten alloys is to mix tungsten,
iron, nickel, or copper powder in the desired amount and then mix
it with a cold press and liquid sinter to near full density. During
the liquid phase treatment, the base tungsten alloy melts and
causes some tungsten to enter the solution, forming a
microstructure through which large tungsten particles (20-60μm) are
dispersed in the base alloy.

Heavy Tungsten Alloy Molds Picture:
Application of Heavy Tungsten Alloy MoldsMold is a low-chip, chip-free precision casting process, which can
directly produce complex shaped parts. Single process, high yield,
no porosity, save raw materials, especially in iron metal die
casting, mold working conditions are very bad, must be able to
withstand high temperature, high pressure and metal flow erosion,
and can resist corrosion, oxidation and thermal impact. High
specific gravity tungsten alloy has good thermal conductivity and
corrosion resistance, which is a good die casting material.
Compared with the copper mold, its service life is increased dozens
of times.
