High Performance Machined Tungsten Heavy Alloy Molds 90WNiFeTungsten Heavy Alloy Molds are made of tungsten matrix
(tungsten content is generally 80%~98%) and a small amount of
nickel, iron, copper, cobalt, molybdenum, chromium and other
elements. The density of high specific gravity tungsten alloy is up
to 15.20~18.70g/cm3, also known as high specific gravity tungsten
alloy or high density alloy material. Because tungsten alloys weigh
more than twice as much as steel. What is Tungsten Heavy Alloy Molds?Tungsten alloy has a series of excellent properties, high specific
gravity: general specific gravity 16.5-18.75g/cm3, high strength:
tensile strength 700-1000mpa, strong absorption capacity: 30-40%
higher than the general specific gravity of lead, high thermal
conductivity: 5 times of die steel; Low thermal expansion
coefficient: only 1/2-1/3 of steel, good electrical conductivity,
good weldability and machinability. A common method of manufacturing heavy tungsten alloys is to mix
the desired amount of tungsten, iron, nickel, or copper powder and
then cold press and liquid phase sintering to near full density.
During the liquid phase treatment, the base tungsten alloy melts
and causes some tungsten to enter the solution, forming a
microstructure through which large tungsten particles (20-60μm) are
dispersed in the base alloy.

Tungsten Heavy Alloy Molds Picture:
Application of Tungsten Heavy Alloy Molds- Die mould is a low-chip, no-chip precision casting process
that can directly manufacture components with complex shapes.
Single process, high yield, no holes, saving raw materials,
especially in ferrous metal die casting, the working conditions of
the mold are very harsh, it must withstand high temperature, high
pressure and the erosion of metal flow, and can resist corrosion,
oxidation and thermal shock . Due to its good thermal conductivity
and corrosion resistance, high specific gravity tungsten alloy is a
better die-casting mold material. Compared with copper molds, the
service life is increased by several tens of times.
