High Performance Machined Tungsten Heavy Alloy PipesTungsten Heavy Alloy Pipes are made of tungsten matrix (tungsten
content is generally 80%~98%), and a small amount of nickel, iron,
copper, cobalt, molybdenum, chromium and other elements. The
density of high specific gravity tungsten alloy is up to
15.20~18.70g/cm3, also known as high specific gravity tungsten
alloy or high density alloy material. Because tungsten alloys weigh
more than twice as much as steel. What is Tungsten Heavy Alloy Pipes?Tungsten alloy has a series of excellent properties, with high
specific gravity: general specific gravity 16.5-18.75g/cm3, high
strength: tensile strength 700-1000mpa, strong absorption capacity:
30-40% higher than the general specific gravity of lead, large
thermal conductivity: 5 times of die steel; Low coefficient of
thermal expansion: only 1/2-1/3 of steel steel, good electrical
conductivity, good weldability and machinability. A common method of manufacturing heavy tungsten alloys is to mix
the desired amount of tungsten, iron, nickel, or copper powder and
then perform cold pressing and liquid phase sintering to near full
density. During the liquid phase treatment, the base tungsten alloy
melts and causes some tungsten to enter the solution, forming a
microstructure through which large tungsten particles (20-60μm) are
dispersed in the base alloy. Application of Tungsten Heavy Alloy PipesThe shield part of the dual-source distance density meter is made
of tungsten alloy, which is used to measure the oil content of the
oil layer thousands of meters below the surface. After the original
lead shielding is changed to high specific gravity tungsten alloy,
it is widely used because of its small size, high precision and
long service life.
