Zirconium Alloy Pipe have strong affinity. They react with oxygen, hydrogen and nitrogen at about 200, 300 and 400 ℃ respectively. The reaction is rapid at higher temperature. Therefore, the melting and heat treatment should be carried out in vacuum furnace. When heat processing is carried out in the atmosphere, proper protection measures shall be taken and the operation time under high temperature shall be shortened.

APPLICATIONS

Zirconium Alloy Pipe is an alloy tube material made of zirconium and other metals. Due to the excellent nuclear and corrosion resistance of zirconium, zirconium alloy tubes are often used in the nuclear fuel assemblies and in core structures of water-cooled reactors. Pure zirconium tube is mainly used to manufacture chemical equipment.

Zirconium alloys are solid solutions of zirconium or other metals, a common subgroup having the trade mark Zircaloy. Zirconium has very low absorption cross-section of thermal neutrons, high hardness, ductility and corrosion resistance. One of the main uses of zirconium alloys is in nuclear technology, as cladding of fuel rods in nuclear reactors, especially water reactors. A typical composition of nuclear-grade zirconium alloys is more than 95 weight percent zirconium and less than 2% of tin, niobium, iron, chromium, nickel and other metals, which are added to improve mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.
