The SH106B fully automatic open flash point tester is designed and manufactured according to the requirements specified in the Chinese standards GB/T 3536 and GB/T267 "Determination of Flash Point and Ignition Point of Petroleum Products (Cleveland Open Cup Method)". It also supports the determination of plasticizer flash point in GB/T1671-2008 ASTMD92, "Safety Testing and Inspection Specification for Coal Mine In Use Products - Air Compressors" MT/T1203-2023, and ISO 2592.

The open flash point is mainly used to determine gasoline engine lubricating oil, diesel engine lubricating oil, compressor oil, refrigeration oil, turbine oil, gear oil, mechanical oil, etc

The principle of determining the open flash point is to load the sample into the test cup to the specified mark. Firstly, raise the temperature of the sample, then slowly increase the temperature, and when approaching the flash point, increase the temperature at a constant rate. At the specified temperature interval, a small test flame is passed horizontally through the test cup, and the lowest temperature at which the vapor on the liquid surface ignites with the test flame is used as the measurement result of the open flash point.
