Drilling Fluids Temperature Control Mud Cooling System
We know temperature control of drilling mud is critical as it will
cause some problems as below: 1. Equipment failure due to broken
seals 2. Unstable mud properties leading to incorrect measurements 3.
Serious safety risk when oil-based fluids exceed its flash point.
Our team designed a mud cooling system that can resolve all the
above problems.
And we have received two repeat orders from the new customers

The APMCS Mud Cooling System is the industry standard for mud
cooling needs in all HPHT and geothermal drilling areas of the
world – both onshore and offshore. This proprietary mud cooler
design incorporates the power and efficiency of a closed circuit
cooling tower with the robust versatility of offshore ISO
containers – thus enhancing the mobility and flexibility of the
drilling fluid temperature control system. Many of our customers
have realized significant savings by sharing their APMCS mud
cooling system across onshore and offshore drilling programs within
the same region.
Aipu solids control design and manufacture a complete solids
control system/drilling mud system for oil & gas drilling, now
we need a mud cooling system in our design, to make it more
user-friendly. Usually, we call the mud cooling system as mud
cooler.
The Aim of Drilling Mud Cooling System
- Crew safety
- Reduction of mud temperature in return lines is especially
important in Oil-based systems to be maintained below flashpoint.
- Reduction of mud temperature reduces the risk of fire, blowouts,
and helps provide safer drilling operation/ environment.
The Benefit and Feature of Drilling Mud Cooling System
- Reduction of temperature while circulating and drilling helps to
maintain rheological properties of the mud and a reduction in the
use of additives.
- Rugged design for months of maintenance-free operation – even
without a dedicated operator.
- Increased wellbore stability, reduction of corrosion of the drill
pipe and downhole tools, therefore a reduction of metal debris in
the fluid.
- Excellent heat transfer efficiencies over the widest flow rates.
- Proven reliability over thousands of installations.
- Engineered for all drilling fluids (> 20 ppg fluid & > 20
mm diameter solids).
- Less impact on the performance of downhole motors, especially
important when drilling near the reservoir in HP/HT wells.
- Increased transportation of drilling cuttings back to the surface.
The above Thermal Capacity can be increased or decreased to suit
customers’ requirements
