Inter-lighting helps to fill these areas between the plants that are otherwise shadowed. Today greenhouses must be as efficient the number of plants need to be maximized in the space. The density of the leaf package is increasing and with high-wire crops the leaves lower down do not receive sufficient light to maximize yield (tomato, cucumber, rose, etc.).
