ISO 3795 Flammability Test Chamber of Automotive Interior Materials ASTM D5132 Horizontal Burning Rate Tester for Polymeric Materials
Overview:
This flammability test apparatus is intended for comparing the relative horizontal burning rates of polymeric materials used in occupant compartments of motor vehicles (cars, multi-purpose passenger cars, trucks and buses). It meets the requirements of ISO3795, DIN75200, ASTM D5132-17, TL1010, GB8410 and etc.
Principle:
The specimen is horizontally held on the U-shaped frame, and after the free end of the sample is ignited for 15 seconds in the combustion chamber using a predetermined height flame, it is determined whether the flame on the specimen is extinguished, or when it is extinguished, the burnt distance and the time to burn distance.
Technical Elements:
How to calculate the burning rate? Take ISO 3795 as an example. The burning rate , B, in millimetres per minute, is given by the
formula
B=s/t x60 Where, s is the burnt distance, in millimetres t is the time, in seconds, to burn distance s
