Compressing Roll  Description

The press roll is the main component of the press unit. There are many types of press rolls. The press section of old paper machines mostly used flat press rolls, and as the speed of paper machines increased, vacuum press rolls began to be used, then grooved press rolls were developed, and in the 1970s, blind-hole press rolls and controlled mid-height rolls were researched and developed. After absorbing the advantages of vacuum, grooved and blind rolls, several other new types of press rolls emerged, and in the 1980s and 1990s, wide nip presses and shoe presses for high-speed paper machines were developed. Researchers have not stopped developing new press rolls with the aim of increasing dewatering efficiency, improving sheet quality and reducing the negative effects of the press on the sheet.
