What is an Lifepo4?
The lithium iron phosphate battery (LiFePO4 battery) or LFP battery
(lithium ferrophosphate), is a type of lithium-ion battery using
lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) as the cathode material, and a
graphitic carbon electrode with a metallic backing as the anode.
The energy density of LiFePO4 is lower than that of lithium cobalt
oxide (LiCoO2), and also has a lower operating voltage. The main
drawback of LiFePO4 is its low electrical conductivity. Therefore,
all the LiFePO4 cathodes under consideration are actually
LiFePO4.Because of low cost, low toxicity, well-defined
performance, long-term stability, etc. LiFePO4 is finding a number
of roles in energy storage,vehicle use, utility scale stationary
applications, and backup power.LFP batteries are cobalt-free.

System composition
Our company is responsible for the design of the whole energy storage system, and the scheme mainly includes: * lithium iron phosphate battery: battery cluster is composed of Benergy Lifepo4 power battery in series and parallel. * PCS converter: Power Conversion System (PCS), two-way energy flow, charging and discharging integrated design. The battery pack is connected to the ac bus through PCS to ensure the stable and reliable power supply of bus. * BMS: the battery management system (BMS) is the bond between the battery and the user, mainly for rechargeable batteries, to improve the utilization of the battery and prevent overcharging and over discharge of the battery. Charging and discharging control of energy storage system and battery SOC information monitoring can be completed according to the instruction. * EMS: Energy Management system (EMS), responsible for collecting BMS information, setting control strategy and adjusting converter output according to battery information, only support local monitoring * Container: using one container for the energy storage system, the container is divided into two parts--battery and electrical equipment, need to install below items inside of container: the battery pack (and related control devices), dc combiner box, air conditioner, automatic fire extinguishing systems, lighting inside the box, converter, EMS control cabinet, etc.
