This product is insoluble in water and can be added directly to the stock solution or mixed with an emulsifier. It is typically added during the ball milling or flotation stage, with the specific addition location determined based on site conditions. The typical dosage is 2-100 g/ton of ore.

This collector is non-foaming and requires a higher amount of frother than other collectors such as xanthate.
