Boron Nitride Insulators

We provide standard products & tailor-made products for hot-pressed boron nitride insulators. Except for pure BN99 insulator, we also supply BN composites with silicon carbide, calcium borate, aluminum nitride and zirconia, to fulfill various of demand for the customers. Due to the low wettability of metal and resistivity to high temperature, boron nitride is an ideal material to make thermal couple protectors, insulators and seal electronics that need to work with molten metals inside. ZG Industries provides the full machining service for boron nitride ceramics including the insulators. Our gun drilling capability could provide the availability for BN insulators with the same length of the raw hot-pressed BN blanks. The round tip also provides a better thermal conduct performance.

Material for BN insulators

Boron nitride material could be physically enhanced by adding some other ceramics, such as CaO (HBN), ZrO2(ZSBN) or AlN (AlN-BN), high purity boron nitride could withstand higher temperature in inert atmosphere than the composite/enhanced ceramics. However, the enhanced BN usually has better wear resistivity and better performance in air.

Dimensions for BN insulators

Boron nitride insulators are usually smaller than 12″ diameter x 16″ length due to the limitation of our equipment and stocked materials. Large BN insulators could be built by connecting shorter tubes together, with staged joint presented below or threaded joint. Submit your drawings here for quotation.

Packing

As a ceramic material, boron nitride is quite fragile in a lot of cases. Our Hot-Pressed Boron Nitride Crucible is carefully handled to minimize damage during storage and transportation. Suitable outer boxes and inner cushioning materials are used for BN products, vacuum packing is also engaged for some of the parts.
