BTDM-I Vacuum coating fingerprint developing instrument

 

Purpose

A general method for developing sweat fingerprint, greasy fingerprint, sweat-grease fingerprint, blood fingerprint and blood-sweat fingerprint on porous or non-porous surface.

 

Working principle

BTDM-I VMD fingerprint development system is especially designed for fingerprint development by vacuum metal deposition (VMD). Gold, silver, copper, zinc, aluminum and tin are placed in the evaporation boat in the vacuum chamber. The exhibit is fixed above the evaporation boat. After the power is on, the metal in the boat evoporates and doposits on the surface of the exhibit, and the fingerprint will occur due to different thickness of metal deposit at the ridge line part and the blank part.

 

Features

The VMD method is a general method for fingerprint development. It can be used to develop fingerprints of various components, including sweat fingerprint, greasy fingerprint, sweat-grease fingerprint, blood fingerprint, blood-sweat fingerprint, juice-contaminated fingerprint and water-staining fingerprint. Suitable for various surfaces: porous surface, non-porous surface, smooth surface, rough surface.

 

Method of use (e.g. Gold/zinc to develop fingerprint on white paper)

A. Turn on the system, the touch screen lights up and displays four buttons.

B. Click the "AIR-IN" button to open the vacuum chamber door.

C. Add gold wire on evaporation boat 1 and zinc particles on boat 2. Fix the exhibit on top of the evaporation boats. Close the chamber door.

D. Click the START button and the device starts to vacuum. 15 minutes later, the vacuum will reach required 2x10-4mbar. Two options, “Evaporation 1” and “Evaporation 2”, appears on the touch screen.

E. Click “Evaporation 1” to start heating the gold, control the evaporation speed of gold by twiddling the power adjustment knob below the touch screen until all the gold in the boat is evaporated.

F. Click “Evaporation 2” to start heating the zinc, control the evaporation speed of zinc by twiddling the power adjustment knob below the touch screen. Closely observe the fingerprint development through the glass window and immediately reduce the power to zero when the fingerprint appears on the exhibit.

G. Click the “AIR-IN” button to end the evaporation, open the door and take out the exhibit.

H. To put in a new exhibit for fingerprint development, it only takes 5 minutes to finish vacuuming.

 One button is used to control the whole process of vacuum pumping, with two mechanical   pumps performing the initial rough pumping and one molecular pump performing the main   high-vacuum pumping. In idle condition, the chamber can reach the vacuum required for   metal evaporation in 17 minutes.
 During the shutdown process, the molecular pump needs to decelerate slowly, and the   total shutdown process is 12 minutes.
 After one batch of exhibit is processed, keep the mechanical pump and molecular pump   running, and close the high valve between the vacuum chamber and the molecular pump.   Fill the air to open the vacuum chamber door, change the exhibit and evaporation metal,   close the chamber door, and vacuum the chamber again. The chamber can reach the   vacuum required for metal evaporation in 5 minutes. Multiple batches of exhibits can be   processed with one time of turn-on.
