Principle of Action

 

Battery over-current protection sheet (referred to as PTC) is made of polymer polymer materials doped with conductors. In the normal working state, the resistance value of the element is much smaller than the remaining resistance in the circuit. When the current increases rapidly, the battery overcurrent protection sheet reacts to the overcurrent situation and instantly changes from low resistance to high resistance to protect the battery. The increase in impedance limits the passage of large currents, thereby reducing the current in the battery to a value that can be safely carried by any circuit element, while protecting the battery from damage. The battery over-current protection sheet is also a protection device specially used to prevent battery over-temperature caused by battery over-charging and over-discharging. Battery over-temperature is the most concerned issue of battery pack designers. Although there are overvoltage and overcurrent detection safety protection circuits in the battery pack, when the voltage protection circuit fails and there is no temperature protection, the battery will generate excessive heat during overcharging or overdischarging, causing the battery to rupture or leak. Liquid, smoke, or even explosion. The battery overcurrent protection sheet is connected in series with the primary battery in the battery pack. The device can play a protective role regardless of whether the temperature rise is caused by short circuit or caused by overcharge and overdischarge.
