GAVIN615B Compact Low Power Consumption 640x512 / 15μm MCT MWIR Cooled Camera Module
Product Description
GAVIN615B is a cooled mid wave thermal imaging module developed by Global Sensor Technology (GST). It consists of a 640x512 / 15µm HgCdTe MWIR IR detector with RS046 cryocooler, hardware electronics and various image processing algorithms are also embedded already to present sharp and clear thermal images.
Configured with RS046 cryocooler, the GAVIN615B is very compact in size, measuring 125x92x67mm in dimension and weighing less than 650g in weight. It’s stable power consumption is as low as 12w. With industrial standard cameralink interface, infrared camera or system integrator can design or integrate their own complete camera easily based on the GAVIN615B thermal imaging module.
GAVIN series cooled thermal module utilizes GST MCT &T2SL cooled IR detectors and integrates various image processing algorithms to output clear infrared images in the total darkness or bad weather conditions. It can detect and recognize risks and threats at long distance while present more target details at short distance.

About GST Infrared
FAQs
1. What is thermal sensiivity? Thermal Sensitivity, also named NETD (Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference), is a key parameter for evaluating medium wave (MWIR) and long wave (LWIR) thermal imaging cameras. It is directly related to the clarity measured by the thermal imager. It is a numerical value representing the signal-to-noise ratio of the temperature difference and measured in milliKelvins (mK). The smaller the thermal sensitivity value, the higher the sensitivity and the clearer the image.
2.What is the difference between uncooled and cooled IR detectors? There are currently two types of infrared thermal imaging sensors on the market, cooled and uncooled. Uncooled IR detector operates at ambient temperature. It is based on semi-conductor industry and thus usually can be fabricated in big volume with small size and low cost. Uncooled IR detectors are widely used in portable/handheld/mobile devices. Cooled IR detectors are packaged in a unit that keeps them at an extremely low temperature which shall be supported by a cryo cooler. They are much bigger, more expensive and less reliable than uncooled sensors, mainly due to the complex cooling systems they require. However, the cooled systems are incredibly sensitive and usually work with long focal length optics to achieve long range mission.
