The Spherical Hydrophilic Acrylic IOL for Cataract Surgery is optical implant, which is made from hydrophilic acrylate material (copolymer of HEMA and MMA).This product is suitable for implantation to correct the vision of aphakic patients after clinical cataract extraction.

The human eye works like a camera, and our natural lens is equivalent to the camera lens, which plays an important role in collecting light. The lens of a normal person is transparent and gradually becomes cloudy with the increase of age, namely, “the lens becomes turbid", which refers to cataract. The cataract surgery is to remove the "cloudy lens". If the lens of an eye is removed, this eye is called aphakic eye, which is equivalent to about 1100 degrees of hyperopia and makes it impossible to see objects in the distance and nearby. It likes a camera with no lenses and needs to be optically corrected. Ordinary glasses are thick and heavy with poor optical effect, and are not suitable for one eye to wear. In order to compensate for the lack of refractive power of the aphakic eye, the intraocular lens must be worn to replace the "real lens" with “intraocular lens", so that cataract patients can have normal visual acuity after surgery. The intraocular lens consists of an optical lens and a support attached thereto. The intraocular lens is implanted in the position inside the eye where the natural lens is located and plays a role of collecting light. It is an ideal substitute that best meets the optical needs of the human eye.
