Q1. how does it sync with music? there’s no instructions for that, i’m trying to figure that out ?

A: we used it for a party, and it would pulse with music in that mode. nothing you have to do. it just listened..

Q2. Anyone try the supertech disco light ball that can compare to this one??

A: It's small but does the job. It did come with instructions and I'm sure how to use the music feature on the remote (play, skip, etc). 

Q3. Can you just use the lights with no music activation and have them move continuously for 3 minutes?

A: Yes. There are (I think) 6 different settings, all of which work with or without music. But the flashing will synchronize with music if there is any playing. The ball will continue flashing until you turn it off, so it could definitely extend beyond 3 straight minutes
