AS Standard 1350 ACAR Conductor High Strength Electrical Properties

ACAR Conductor has a better mechanical and electrical properties as compared to an equivalent ACSR, AAC or AAAC. A very good balance between the mechanical and electrical properties, therefore, makes ACAR Conductor the best choice where the ampacity, strength and light weight are the main consideration of the line design. These conductors are extensively used in overhead transmission and distribution lines.

2.Construction

ACAR has aluminium 1350 H-19 wires concentrically stranded around a 6201-T81 aluminium alloy core. Typically, the 6201-T81 is the conductor core, but in certain designs, the 1350 H-19 and the 6201-T81 wires may be stranded in the same layer
