Main application:
This machine is a continuous automatic tablet press for pressing
granular raw materials into tablets. It is mainly used in
pharmaceutical industry and also the chemical, food, electronic,
plastic and metallurgical industries.
How does Pre-compression compare to Main Compression? Why are they
Critical?Rotary type of tablet machines incorporates a two-step compression process of tablets.
Here, granulation undergoes a first compression where it is
compacted under light compression.
This first stage of compression is what we refer to as
pre-compression.
After pre-compression, the tablet undergoes a second compression
stage which is referred to as the main compression.
Here, a higher compression pressure is applied on the compact to
ensure the proper hardness of the tablet is achieved.
The pre-compression stage, note, is usually applied to eliminate
entrapped air from tablet formulations.
Lots of air in the powder can significantly affect the integrity of
the tablet.
