The print cover is a key component of the electrocardiograph, primarily responsible for:

- Protecting the thermal print head: Preventing dust, liquids, and other contaminants from entering, ensuring the print head remains clean and functioning properly.

- Securing the recording paper: Ensuring smooth paper feed during printing, without deviation or jamming.

- Applying appropriate pressure: The cover typically contains a paper pressure roller or spring that evenly presses the recording paper against the thermal print head, ensuring clear and continuous printed ECG waveforms.

Common Problems:

- Physical Damage: The cover may be cracked or its hinges may break due to an accidental drop or impact.

- Inability to Close or Lock: This may result in the cover not being able to close properly during printing, preventing proper paper feed and printing.
