► About CU Medical AED Defibrillator i-PAD NF1200 shock button
The CU Medical AED Defibrillator i-PAD NF1200 has a shock button that is used to deliver a life-saving electrical shock to a person experiencing
sudden cardiac arrest. This shock is delivered through the electrodes placed on the person's chest, and it helps to restore the heart's normal
rhythm. The shock button should only be pressed when instructed by the device after analyzing the person's heart rhythm.
► Press the SHOCK button if instructed
The i-PAD begins rhythm analysis as soon as it is connected to the patient.
The i-PAD activates the following Indicators and Voice prompt during rhythm analysis:
·Voice prompt: "Analyzing heart rhythm"
·Graphical Rescue Guide: lights up the second step of the rescue operation.
After rhythm analysis, the i-PAD decides whether the patient needs a shock or not.
If a shock is required:
Indicator and voice prompts:
Buzzer: Continuous 1-second beep
Voice prompt: “Download recommended”
Buzzer: Continuous beep until the SHOCK button is pressed, or the buzzer automatically turns off if the SHOCK button is not pressed within 15 seconds.
Voice prompt: “Press the flashing orange button now. Apply download now”
SHOCK button backlight: Flashing orange.
The SHOCK button must be pressed to deliver a shock.
If the SHOCK button is pressed, the i-PAD delivers a defibrillation shock. It will notify you with a voice prompt that the download has been
administered: “Download administered”
If the SHOCK button is not pressed within 15 seconds, the i-PAD will turn off and continue with CPR instructions.
If a shock is not required:
Indicator: Voice prompt: “No Shock recommended”
Note After a shockable rhythm is detected, the i-PAD will continue to acquire and analyze the patient’s ECG while charging. If the ECG rhythm changes
to a non-shockable rhythm, the i-PAD will automatically turn off.
