Drager expiratory valve new original PN 8413660 for Savina® reusable
► Brief Introduction of Drager expiratory valve new original PN 8413660 for Savina® reusable
Drager expiratory valve assembly 8413660 consists of the expiratory valve and the return valve . The expiratory valve is a proportional valve used to regulate the pressure in the respiratory system. The check valve works together with the spring valve of the pressure relief valve to prevent pendulum breathing during spontaneous breathing. The expiratory flow sensor measures the expiratory flow according to the measurement principle of hot wire anemometry. The measured flow rate is therefore a mass flow rate (NTPD). The expiratory valve assembly and the expiratory flow sensor can be removed from the Sabina for cleaning.
► Removing the expiratory valve.
1 Remove and empty the water trap container (A). 2 Turn the locking ring (B) as far to the left as possible. 3 Remove the expiratory valve from the connector.
► Disassembling the expiratory valve.
1 Pull the flow sensor sleeve (C) off the expiratory valve. 2 Remove the diaphragm (D).
► Disinfecting the expiratory valve.
NOTE Disinfect the expiratory valve components (valve body, flow sensor sleeve, diaphragm, water trap) only after disassembly.
After cleaning and disinfecting, always dry the expiratory valve using high-temperature steam sterilization at 134°C (273.2°F) to ensure that any remaining liquid inside is completely dry.
► Reusing the expiratory valve.
NOTE Testing devices with high leaks due to damage to the expiratory valve will not detect all damage. Replace the expiratory valve if any of the following damage is present:
– Cracks in plastic parts. – Torn membrane – Deformed or hardened rubber parts
► Mounting the expiratory valve
WARNING Risk of patient injury Expiratory valves that are damp or have not been reprocessed can impair the operation of the device and endanger the patient. Only use properly reprocessed expiratory valves which have been sufficiently dried.
► Preparing the exhalation valve 1 Install the diaphragm (A) onto the edge of the exhalation valve housing. 2 Ensure that the diaphragm is installed correctly. 3 Install the flow sensor sleeve (B), if removed. ► Inserting the exhalation valve
1 Rotate the locking ring (D) as far to the left as possible. 2 Push the exhalation valve into the accessory. 3 Rotate the locking ring (D) as far to the right as possible until it locks into place. 4 Gently pull on the exhalation valve to ensure it is securely attached. 5 Install the water collection container (C).
