Specification of PHiliphh EPIQ 5GI Ultrasound Transducer L12-3
Cleaning of sensors, cables and connectors.
These general cleaning instructions (low-level disinfection) apply to all sensors and cables. Be sure to follow the steps below to clean the transducer and cable.
Caution
Always wear safety glasses and gloves when cleaning and disinfecting the equipment.
Caution If using a premixed solution, be sure to note the expiration date of the solution.
Caution
The transmitter must be cleaned after each use. Transducer cleaning is an important step before effective disinfection or sterilization. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions when using disinfectants.
Caution Attempting to disinfect cables or connectors using methods other than those listed here may damage the equipment and void the warranty.
Caution Do not allow sharp objects (such as scalpels or welding knives) to come into contact with the transducer or cable.
Caution When handling the transducer, do not strike it against a hard surface.
Caution Do not use a surgical brush to clean the transducer. Even using a soft brush can damage the sensor.
Caution Do not use a brush on the connector labels.
Caution During cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization, place the transducer, connector, or cable components, which must remain dry, over wet components until all components are dry. This helps prevent fluid from seeping into unsealed areas of the sensor.
Caution Do not allow any liquid to enter the connector. Be careful not to get liquid through the strain relief, connectors, electrical contacts, or the areas around the bolt shaft and the strain relief. Liquid in the connectors may void the device's warranty
Caution You can only use alcohol solutions to disinfect the connectors. Make sure the solution contains no more than 70% alcohol. Solutions with an alcohol content higher than 70% can damage the product.
Caution Do not use alcohol or alcohol-based products on cables or cable glands.
Caution Avoid contact of the disinfectant with the connector labels
Caution Be sure to use the correct concentration of enzymatic cleaner and rinse thoroughly
Caution Do not use paper products or abrasives to clean the transducer. They can damage the soft transducer lens.
Caution Make sure the transducers are completely dry before storing them. If you need to dry the transducer lens after cleaning, use a soft cloth instead of wiping.
