The amount of light absorption and scattering of blood is primarily related to the hemoglobin content. Therefore, HbO2 and Hb content have different absorption spectra, so the blood in the blood oximeter catheter, whether it is arterial or venous blood, can accurately reflect the oxygen saturation of the blood according to the HbO2 content and half board.
The reflectance ratio of blood at wavelengths close to 660 nm and 900 nm (ρ660/900) most sensitively reflects changes in blood oxygen saturation. Common clinical blood oxygen saturation meters (such as Taijia Electronics Taijia saturation meter, pulse oximeter) This ratio is also used as a variable. In addition to light-absorbing hemoglobin in arterial blood, other tissues (such as skin, soft tissues, venous blood, and capillary blood) can also absorb light in the light transmission pathway. But when the incident light passes through the finger or the earlobe, the light can be absorbed by the pulsating blood and other tissues at the same time, but the intensity of the light absorbed by the two is different. The intensity (CA) of light absorbed by pulsatile arterial blood varies with the arterial pressure waveform. And make a difference. Light intensity (DC) absorbed by other tissues does not change with rhythm and time. From this, the light absorption ratio R at the two wavelengths can be calculated. R=(AC660/DC660)/(AC940/DC940). R is negatively correlated with SpO2. According to the R value, the corresponding SpO2 value can be obtained from the standard curve.
