► Brief Introduction

When the patient monitor working, you can run the patient monitor on a rechargeable lithium battery. When a battery is installed, the equipment will automatically run power from the battery in the case that external power fails.

The battery is located at the base of patient monitor. The battery power is input into power module through battery connector board, and then power module processes and forwards the power into each components of the patient monitor.

This rechargeable Lithium-ion battery power during intra-hospital patient transfer or whenever the power supply is interrupted.

The battery is charged automatically when the monitor is connected to AC/DC power, no matter the monitor is powered on or not. Whenever the AC/DC power is interrupted during patient monitoring, the patient monitor automatically runs power from the internal battery. iPM 12/iPM 7 patient monitor is available for up to two batteries. iPM 10/iPM 6 or iPM 8/iPM 5 patient monitor is available for only one battery.

► Battery Check

1. If the patient monitor is installed with a battery, remove the battery first.
2. Verify that the patient monitor works correctly when running powered form an AC source.
3. Insert the battery per the procedures provided in the Operator’s Manual.
4. Remove the AC power cord and verify that the patient monitor still works correctly.

► On-screen battery symbols indicate the battery status as follows:

1. 

Indicates that the battery works correctly. The solid portion represents the current charge level of the battery in proportion to its maximum charge level.

2. 

Indicates that the battery has low charge level and needs to be charged. In this case, the patient monitor provides an alarm message.

3. 

Indicates that the battery is almost depleted and needs to be charged immediately. Otherwise, the patient monitor shuts down automatically.

4. 

Indicates that no battery is installed.

The capacity of the internal battery is limited. If the battery charge is too low, a technical alarm will be triggered and the message [Low Battery] or [Battery Depleted] displayed. At this moment, apply AC/DC power to the patient monitor. Otherwise, the patient monitor will power off automatically before the battery is completely depleted.
