Features:

Adjustment of objective lens correction ring

Most microscope objectives are designed to be used with cover glass of a standard thickness of 0.17 mm and refractive index of 1.515, which is satisfactory when the objective has a numerical aperture of 0.4 or less. However, when using a high numerical aperture dry objective (with a numerical aperture of 0.8 or greater), a change in cover glass thickness of only a few microns results in significant image quality degradation due to aberration and worsens as the cover glass thickness increases. To compensate for this error, more corrected objectives are equipped with correction rings that adjust the position of the central lens group to match fluctuations in cover glass thickness.
