All the x-ray lead glass discs listed here meet 2mm lead equivalency based @ 150kvp. We offer higher lead equivalencies if required.

While this is the most common lead equivalency for general x-ray rooms used by doctors, dentists, chiropractors, and medical centers; you will still need to check with your local health official or radiation physicist to determine the required lead shielding for your room.

The lead glass of our products are divided into ZF2, ZF3, ZF6, and ZF7 series ZF2 and ZF3 series high lead glass is extensively applied as shield in X-ray diagnosis, spiral CT scanning room viewport and medical diagnosis. ZF6 and ZF7 series high lead glass is mainly used in nuclear industry such as nuclear power station and atomic energy application.

LEAD EQUIVALENCY
Lead equivalency is a measure of how effective a material is at attenuating, or reducing, x-rays. The higher the lead equivalency, the more protective the material is. You will need to check with your local health official or radiation physicist to determine the required lead shielding for your room. Glass layering can increase lead equivalency, and the provider you choose should be able to offer a range of lead equivalencies for your lead window.

 

SIZE OF YOUR LEAD WINDOW
The next thing to consider is the size of the lead glass window. Lead windows come in a variety of sizes, so you will need to make sure that you choose a size that is appropriate for your needs. The last thing you want is to have a window that is too large, doesn’t provide adequate protection, or one that is too small and obstructs your view.

 

DIFFERENT LEAD LINED FRAMES
There are a number of different custom frame options that you might consider. For example, 45-degree splayed lead lined frames allow for a wider field of view, which can be important in specific medical procedures. Telescopic view lead lined frames can be helpful if you need a quick installation in a finished wall. Vertical center mullions are suitable for extremely wide windows and vertical lead shielded T-joints can be used to reduced any obstructions.
