Polyester Rope Description

Polyester Rope is an excellent all-round synthetic rope, which is widely used in anchor rope, mooring rope, fender rope, lifeline, winch and hoisting rope in the shipbuilding industry. Our polyester rope is specially constructed to provide non-rotating thread. The special structure provides high resistance to severe abrasion under severe weather conditions. This kind of polyester filament is white, lightweight, abrasion-resistant, has good abrasion resistance, and low internal and external wear. We can also customize colors according to customer requirements. It will not fuse on the pulley, nor will it freeze.

In all kinds of chemical fiber and natural fiber ropes, polyester rope is the best one for UV resistance. It owns stable chemical performance, good abrasion, and chemical corrosion resistance. It absorbs water and keeps the same elongation rate and strength when it’s under wet conditions.

Feature and Application

1. Flexibility
Nylon rope has a high level of flexibility. When necessary, it’s possible to stretch nylon rope by up to 20% without affecting its strength, and it will simply return to its original size afterwards. This makes it particularly good when you need the rope to be more shock absorbent, such as towing or mooring. 

2. Absorbency
Both nylon and polyester sink in water, however, they differ greatly in terms of their absorbency.

Although nylon rope is normally very strong and this compromises its strength significantly. The fibres become waterlogged and start to sag.

They also take a long time to dry. Therefore, nylon isn’t the best option for wet conditions.

Polyester ropes, on the other hand, do not absorb water. Retain their normal level of strength when they’re wet and, as a result, they are a better choice for marine applications.

3.Temperature resistance
Another important difference between nylon and polyester is their resistance to heat. Nylon rope cannot withstand heat so well and will begin to degrade at 210°C. Polyester rope, however, has a high melting point of 260°C, so is typically a better choice in extreme temperatures.
