The enclosed womr gear slewing ring drive can get a large transmission ratio, more compact than staggered axle oblique gear mechanism. With two wheel meshing tooth surface for line contact, its bearing capacity is much higher than the staggered axle oblique gear mechanism. Worm drive is equivalent to spiral transmission, it is multi-tooth meshing transmission, so the transmission is smooth, low noise. And it is self-locking, when the guide angle of the worm is less than the equivalent friction angle between the meshing teeth, the mechanism has feature of self-locking; it can realize the reverse self-locking, that is to say, only the worm to drive the worm wheel. With this feature, the worm mechanism used in heavy machinery can play a safety protection role.
