Half slot Channel is designed for use to support various building construction including trapeze systems, shelving and other conduit supporting applications.Galvanized channels are A36 hot rolled steel, or mild steel, channels that have been dipped into a molten zinc coating process (ASTM A123). Hot-dipped galvanize (HDG) can be identified by its crystallization pattern, also known as “spangle” on the surface of the material. Steel channel has been classified into "C" and "U" types depending on its outlook. Hence there are two standards to show the channel dimensions - UPE & UPN. UPE is for the C channel steel with parallel flanges while UPN for the U channel steel with tapered flanges. Pregalvanized Unistrut is zinc coated during a hot dip process for added corrosion resistance. Steel strip from a coil is fed through a continuous zinc coater that cleans, fluxes and coats the steel with molten zinc.
