Several groups of diaphragms (stainless steel sheet) are connected with the two half couplings alternately with bolts. Each group of diaphragms is formed by overlapping several pieces. The diaphragms are divided into connecting rod type and whole pieces with different shapes. The diaphragm coupling compensates the relative displacement of the two connected shafts by the elastic deformation of the diaphragm.
