High Efficiency EQ40 High Frequency Transformer LED SMPS Switched-Mode Power Supply1.Product DescriptionThe High Efficiency EQ40 High-Frequency Transformer is a critical component specifically engineered for LED Switched-Mode Power Supplies (SMPS). Utilizing an EQ40 ferrite core, it operates at elevated frequencies to achieve superior power density and minimal energy loss through heat. This enables the design of compact, reliable, and energy-efficient LED drivers that deliver stable performance, essential for applications ranging from commercial lighting and industrial systems to high-luminosity LED arrays, while significantly reducing the overall size and thermal footprint of the power supply unit.
1. Efficient energy transmission and conversion (core electrical energy function) Reduce losses: High frequency ferrite EQ40 magnetic core is used, optimized for high-frequency switching frequencies ranging from tens of kHz to hundreds of kHz, with extremely low core loss. By combining multiple stranded windings such as Leeds wire to reduce copper loss, the energy conversion efficiency can be increased to over 90% (such as 90% -95%), significantly reducing energy waste and heat generation. Improving power density: High frequency allows for the use of smaller magnetic cores and fewer copper wires to transmit the same power, significantly reducing the size of the transformer itself and the entire power supply, achieving miniaturization and lightweighting of the power supply.
2. Critical safety isolation (protective function) Electrical isolation: The physical structure of a transformer completely isolates the input side (primary, usually connected to high voltage alternating current AC) and the output side (secondary, connected to LED beads). This ensures that users will not be electrocuted when touching the LED light body, ensuring personal safety. Suppression of interference: This isolation can effectively prevent the transmission of interference noise such as surges and spikes in the input power grid to the precision LED load end, and also prevent switch noise inside the power supply from polluting the power grid, improving the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of the system.
3. Voltage Conversion and Adaptation (Voltage Matching Function) Voltage reduction function: LED chips usually require low voltage direct current (such as 12V, 24V, 36V) to operate. The transformer precisely reduces the rectified high-voltage DC bus voltage to the safe voltage level required by the LED load through the turns ratio of the primary and secondary coils. Constant drive: In conjunction with the backend circuit, it provides constant current or constant voltage output for the LED, ensuring stable brightness, unaffected by input voltage fluctuations, and extending the lifespan of the LED.
4. Implementation of Circuit Topology Function (System Level Function) As the core component, its design determines the topology structure of the SMPS. EQ40 transformer is commonly used for: Flyback topology: simple structure, low cost, very suitable for<100W LED driver power supply. Transformers simultaneously achieve energy storage and transmission functions. Forward topology: Higher efficiency, commonly used in higher power LED lighting systems with>100W. 2.Performance Characteristics
