zinc pot itself is constructed from XG-08 specialty steel in a
remarkable 60mm thickness—40% thicker than industry
standards—providing exceptional resistance to thermal stress and
zinc penetration. Each pot undergoes comprehensive ultrasonic
testing to ensure material integrity, with reinforced 200x100mm
flanges adding structural stability at the critical rim area where
stress concentrations typically occur.
The furnace's support structure employs an innovative triple-layer
stabilization system. Inner supports utilize 310S stainless steel with 100mm diameter pipes protected by 100x10mm
steel sleeves, providing direct thermal expansion accommodation.
These connect to H-beam frameworks (200x200mm) spaced at precise 1510mm intervals, distributing the 110-ton load
evenly across the foundation. Finally, external wall supports
transfer residual loads to the building structure, creating a
comprehensive anti-deformation network that maintains pot geometry
within 2mm tolerance over years of operation.
Insulation technology represents another area of excellence. The
furnace employs 80m³ of ceramic fiber modules in a dual-layer
configuration: 310-grade aluminum silicate fiber blankets for primary insulation,
supplemented by 300x300x350mm pre-compressed fiber modules with
50mm compression allowance. This system achieves exterior surface
temperatures below 60°C—reducing radiant heat losses by
approximately 70% compared to traditional brick-lined
furnaces—while the modular design permits rapid replacement of
individual sections without complete furnace shutdown.
