The TPS20xxB power distribution switch is designed for applications that may have high capacitive loads and short circuits.These devices contain 70mΩ N-channel MOSFET power switches for use in power distribution systems that require multiple power switches in a single package.Each switch is controlled by a logic enable input.The gate drive is provided by an internal charge pump designed to control the power switch rise and fall times to greatly reduce current inrush during switching.The charge pump requires no external components and operates from supply voltages as low as 2.7 V.When the output load exceeds the current-limit threshold or a short circuit occurs, the device limits the output current to a safe level by switching to constant current mode and pulling the overcurrent (OCx) to a logic output low.If continuous heavy overloads and short circuits increase the power dissipation in the switch, they will cause the junction temperature to rise, and the thermal protection circuit will turn off the switch to prevent damage to the device.The device automatically recovers from thermal shutdown once the device has cooled sufficiently.Internal circuitry ensures that this switch remains closed until a valid input voltage is present.This power distribution switch is designed to set the current limit to 1 A (typical).
