High Accuracy Sheet Metal Slitting Line With Fast Change Twin Slitters

Twin slitters are good solution, when steel coil processing plants need high production, for twin slitters exchange with each other fast, it takes only about 15minutes. Traditionally skilled workers need to take 1-2 hours to arrange and adjust slitting knives and spacers on slitter shafts, when there is one slitter head on slitting line, the whole line have to stop and wait for the slitter is ready with newly arranged knives and spacers. Otherwise, during this period, another coil is being slitted in the event of non stop slitting.

Fast change process:

1. unlock drive joints, open the hydraulic press on slitter feet.

2. Motorized walking out to exchange platform.

3. motorized moving the platform to let the other slitter facing to online position.

4. motorized moving the other slitter online

5. hydraulic press feet of the other slitter, connect drive shaft and lock.

6. before changing, slitting tools have been installed and adjusted.

Our twin slitters (double slitters) design give very excellent performances:

• One slitter head is working on line, workers arrange disc knives and spacers on the other slitter.
• After arrangement, automatically test knife gaps to be proper.
• Exchange double slitters on exchange platform in Jog mode
• This process takes only a quarter time.

When customers want to slit a big gauge range of steel coils, like 0.3-6mm, 0.4-8mm, we make two slitters bearing different slitting duty, one slitter is for slitting thin coil sheets, the other slitter is bigger for slitting thicker coil plates.

We supplied 6x1600 double slitters, with one 0.3-3mm slitting machine and the other 2-6mm slitting machine. Customers are very satisfied with the design, no matter what thickness coil to slit, he will get good slitting result.

The two slitters can be driven by one drive motor and transmission, or each slitter has one motor and transmission whose slitter head drives out and return back on rails, with no need of one exchange platform. But, one exchange platform is a must when more than two slitters are needed for one slitting line.
