Hot dipped GI steel sheet & coil is made of carbon steel coated
in zinc through the hot-dip process. This results in a layer of
zinc on each side of the steel sheet or coil, firmly adhered to the
steel through the formation of an iron-zinc alloy bonding layer,
created through a diffusion process while the heated steel is in
contact with molten zinc. Chesterfield provides hot dipped
galvanized steel sheet & coil to meet customers' ASTM standards
with the option of a customized surface finish.

Packaging and Shipping of Galvanized Steel Sheet
The galvanized steel sheet is usually supplied in coils, which are
then banded and wrapped onto wooden pallets for shipping. The coils
are securely fastened onto the pallets to prevent any movement
during transportation. The coils may also be packaged in protective
plastics and placed directly on the pallets.
The galvanized steel sheet is usually shipped by either truck or
rail to reach its destination. Careful consideration is taken
during loading and transport to ensure that the cargo is not
damaged in any way.
