The GE IS215UCCAM03A is a Compact PCI Processor Module, a core component of GE’s VIe
Series Distributed Control Systems, serving as the compute engine
for Mark VIe controllers. Powered by a 650 MHz Intel Celeron
processor, it integrates 128 MB flash memory and 128 MB DRAM,
combined with the IS215UCCAH3 and IS200EPMC modules. Designed for
single-slot installation in CPCI racks, it enables critical
communication and control functions in industrial environments,
supporting gas, steam, and balance-of-plant applications.
Equipped with a 10BaseT/100BaseTX Ethernet port, two PMC sites, and
a watchdog timer, it facilitates links to HMIs, I/O networks, and
setup via an RS-232C COM1 port. Its operation relies on
application-specific software, processing I/O data and
synchronizing clocks across systems using IEEE 1588 for
microsecond-level precision.
Features:
Processing Power: 650 MHz Intel Celeron processor with 128 MB flash and DRAM,
delivering reliable computing for control logic and data
processing.
Versatile Connectivity: 10/100 Ethernet for UDH and R/S/T IONets; RS-232C COM1 for setup,
ensuring seamless system integration.
Synchronization: Uses IEEE 1588 protocol to synchronize I/O packs and controllers
within ±100 microseconds, critical for real-time control.
Expandability: Two PMC sites support additional hardware, enhancing flexibility
for custom applications.
Installation Flexibility: Fits single-slot in 4-slot CPCI racks; includes CMOS battery with
jumper for storage longevity, requiring reinstallation during
setup.
Reliability Features: Watchdog timer and support for dual power supplies minimize
downtime and ensure system stability.
Application Support: Runs software for steam, gas, LM, and BOP systems, processing I/O,
internal states, and synchronization data for cohesive DCS
operation.
