The GE IS215VPWRH2AC is an Emergency Turbine Protection Card in the Mark VI Speedtronic
system, a key upgrade from the Mark V with added wind turbine
support. As part of GE’s legacy Speedtronic line, it provides independent
emergency overspeed protection, working with TPRO and TREG terminal
boards to control trip solenoids separately from the main turbine
control system.
A lower-power variant supporting one TREG board ,vs. VPROH1 for two
TREGs, it features a front faceplate with essential ports: power
plug, Ethernet ID, IONet, parallel port, D-shell connectors, and
status LEDs. Its rear houses two stacked boards with components
like backplanes, capacitors, integrated circuits, heat sinks, and
vertical connectors, secured via standoffs. Part of a
triple-redundant setup, it ensures turbine safety in gas, steam,
and wind applications.
Features:
Emergency Protection: Delivers independent overspeed protection via TPRO/TREG terminal
boards, controlling trip solenoids to trigger turbine trips when
needed.
Mark VI Integration: Supports the series’ expanded applications with a conformal-coated
PCB for durability.
Limited TREG Support: Designed for single TREG board setups; use VPROH1 for dual TREG
requirements.
Diagnostic & Connectivity: Front LEDs indicate status; ports enable monitoring and
configuration.
Redundant Design: Part of a triple-modular system, allowing reliable operation even
during maintenance or faults.
