The MTL5511 is a 1-channel switch/proximity Detector Interface with line fault detection. The MTLx511 enables a safe-area load to be controlled by a switch or proximity detector located in a hazardous-area. When selected, open or short circuit conditions in the field wiring are detected by the line fault-detect (LFD) facility and also indicated on the top of the module. Phase reversal for the channel is selected by a switch on the side of the module and output is provided by changeover relay contacts. The Digital Input (DI) module range offers solid state or relay output switches in a safe area that respond to input switches located in a hazardous area. Single or multiple channel (2 or 4) options are available, as well as Line-Fault Detection (LFD).
