Galvanized iron wire, also known as galvanized wire, is a type of
steel wire that is coated with a layer of zinc on the surface of
the wire to improve its corrosion resistance. The process of
coating iron wire with zinc is known as galvanizing.
Galvanized iron wire is a flexible and durable material that can be
used in a wide variety of applications. Here are some common uses:
Two Categories of GI Galvanized Binding Tie Wire Soft and Shiny Quality
Galvanized iron wire can be divided into the following two
categories according to the production process:
Hot dipped galvanized iron wire: First, the metal wire is cold drawn to the desired wire diameter
by specialized equipment. Then, the wire is annealed and cooled to
get black annealed wire. Next it is decontaminated. Finally, the
wire is immersed in a molten zinc solution. The zinc reacts with
the wire to form the zinc coating at its surface. This process
provides a thicker, more durable coating, making galvanized iron
wire suitable for applications requiring higher corrosion
resistance.
Electro galvanized iron wire: First, the metal wire is cold drawn to the desired wire diameter
by specialized equipment. Then, the wire is annealed and cooled to
make black annealed wire. Next it is decontaminated. Finally, it is
immersed in an electrolyte containing zinc salts for a period of
time. A zinc layer is formed on its surface by a displacement
reaction. Compared to hot dipped galvanized iron wire, electro
galvanized iron wire has a thinner coating, but still offers good
corrosion resistance.
Various applications of GI Galvanized Binding Tie Wire Soft
and Shiny Quality
Fencing: Hot dipped galvanized wire is often used for
fencing purposes, such as chain link fences, livestock fencing, and
garden fencing, because it can withstand exposure to the elements.
Construction: Hot dipped galvanized wire is used in construction for tying
rebar together and in various concrete applications where corrosion
resistance is essential.
Agriculture: Farmers use zinc coated wire for a variety of purposes, including
building trellises for crops, securing animal enclosures, and
creating wire structures.
As binding wire: Galvanized iron wire can change its shape to suit various needs,
so it can be used as a binding wire for fixing objects.
