A Solution to Truly Achieve Non-Disconnection Calibration of
Three-Phase Electricity Meters
Currently, the number of three-phase electricity meters with
measurement circuits of current and voltage that cannot be
disconnected (inline type) is continuously increasing in both
production and application. When calibrating such three-phase
electricity meters where the current and voltage measurement
circuits cannot be separated, it is necessary to isolate the
current and voltage circuits. For multi-position electricity meter
calibration devices, a 1:1 three-phase current isolation
transformer (ICT) needs to be added to each position.
The three-phase multifunctional electricity meter (ICT) calibration
device launched by our company in 2007 employs a unique
high-accuracy electronic compensation current transformer
technology, which enables 1:1 current isolation for each meter
position, thereby truly realizing the non-disconnection calibration
of three-phase electricity meters.
The successful application of this technology is of great
significance for obtaining various data indicators of three-phase
electricity meters under actual on-site wiring conditions
(non-disconnection), more realistically reproducing the error
characteristics of three-phase electricity meters in actual use,
and further improving the efficiency of meter calibration.

In 2007, the Beijing Electric Power Bureau’s Electricity Metering
Center purchased four 0.05-class, 16-position three-phase
multifunctional electricity meter calibration devices (capable of
truly realizing non-disconnection calibration) through a bidding
process. After nearly a year of use, all performance indicators
have met or exceeded the requirements of the bidding technical
documents and have been certified by relevant metrology
