CuNi30 is a copper-nickel alloy with approximately 30% nickel content, which provides it with a range of valuable properties for various applications. CuNi30 is an excellent choice for applications where a combination of high resistivity, corrosion resistance, and mechanical strength is required, particularly in marine environments and chemical processing industries.

Applications:

  1. Marine Applications: CuNi30 is extensively used in marine environments due to its excellent corrosion resistance in seawater. It is used for pipelines in shipbuilding, offshore oil and gas, and desalination plants.
  2. Submarine Industrial Base: Developed in partnership with Phillips Federal and Austal USA, CuNi30 is used for the U.S. Navy's submarine industrial base to alleviate the supply pressure of traditional castings and meet the goal of “2+1 Columbia and Virginia Class submarine platforms”.
  3. Desalination: CuNi30 is used in desalination plants for its resistance to seawater and other chloride-containing solutions.
  4. Heat Exchangers and Condensers: The alloy is used in the construction of heat exchangers and condensers, particularly in power stations and chemical industries where resistance to erosion and corrosion is crucial.
  5. Piping Systems: CuNi30 is utilized in piping systems, especially in environments where high corrosion resistance is required, such as in chemical and nuclear industries.
  6. Welding: IMPHY CuNi30 is used for welding of Copper-Nickel alloys and is useful for dissimilar welding of Nickel-Copper alloys to Copper-Nickel alloys. The weld metal has an excellent resistance to corrosion in sea water.
  7. Hydraulic Plant: CuNi30 is used in hydraulic plant applications, such as in the production of T and angle pieces for hydraulic systems in marine applications.
