ASME SA213/ASTM A213 TP310S / UNS S31008 Stainless Steel Seamless Heat Exchanger Tube
 

 

ASTM A213 TP310S is the correct choice for a heat exchanger tube operating in continuous high temperatures (800°C – 1100°C) in oxidizing, carburizing, or mildly sulfidizing environments. It offers excellent oxidation resistance but limited creep strength above 900°C. Do not use it for aqueous chloride service or below 550°C if long-term embrittlement is a concern.

 

 

Choose TP310S when:

  • Operating temperature exceeds 850°C (1560°F) continuously.

  • Environment contains carbon (carburization, metal dusting risk).

  • Sulfur-bearing hot flue gas (sulfidation).

  • Polythionic acid SCC is a concern (refinery/Claus service).

  • High-temperature hydrogen service above 450°C.

  • You need oxidation resistance to 1150°C with good weldability.
