DESCRIPTION

The TPS54229EDDAR is an adaptive on-time D-CAP2TMmode synchronous buck converter. The TPS54229Eenables system designers to complete the suite ofvarious end-equipment power bus regulators with acost effective, low component count, low standbycurrent solution. The main control loop for theTPS54229E uses the D-CAP2TM mode control thatprovides a fast transient response with no externalcompensation components. The adaptive on-timecontrol supports seamless transition between PWMmode at higher load conditions and Eco-modeTwoperation at light loads. Eco-modetm allows theTPS54229E to maintain high efficiency during lighterload conditions.

The TPS54229EDDAR also has aproprietary circuit that enables the device to adopt toboth low equivalent series resistance (ESR) outputcapacitors, such as POSCAP or SP-CAP,and ultra-low ESR ceramic capacitors. The device operatesfrom 4.5-V to 18-V VIN input. The output voltage canbe programmed between 0.76 V and 7 V. The devicealso features an adjustable soft start time. TheTPS54229E is available in the 8-pin DDA package.and designed to operate from -40°C to 85°C.
