MAX3051EKA+T Description
Four operating modes are available on the MAX3051: high-speed, slope-control, standby, and shutdown mode. Data rates up to 1Mbps are allowed in high-speed mode. The transmitter's slew rate can be tuned for data rates up to 500kbps using the slope-control mode. As a result, unshielded twisted or parallel cable can be used because the effects of EMI are lessened. The MAX3051 enters low-current mode when the transmitter is turned off and the receiver is pushed high. The transmitter and receiver are turned off when in shutdown mode.
The ISO 11898 specification of -2V to +7V is exceeded by the MAX3051 input common-mode range of -7V to +12V. The item is perfect for severe situations outside of the automotive industry thanks to these capabilities and the configurable slew-rate limiting.
